More than a health assessment

More than a health assessment

When we came to Biograph, we were looking for a clearer picture of our health. What we found was more than a set of results. We walked away with information we did not know we needed, a better understanding of where our health stood, and a plan we could actually act on.

The genetic discovery that changed everything

The genetic discovery that changed everything

For me, Deborah, the greatest impact was discovering genetic findings I had no previous knowledge about. It was scary at first, especially because I had to think about what it could mean for my kids. But knowledge is power: our kids are being tested now, and at 56 years old, I would have never known if I had not gone through the testing.

That changed how I think about prevention. It is not just about waiting for symptoms or assuming you will know when something is wrong. Sometimes, you need the right testing and the right guidance to understand what may be happening before it becomes urgent.

Turning insights into action

Turning insights into action

For both of us, Biograph gave us so much more information about our health and wellness, all in one place. It gave us motivation to make changes we probably should have made a long time ago. We started taking the vitamins we needed, eating more balanced meals, thinking about food like medicine, making better choices, making fitness a priority, and placing more emphasis on Zone 2.

For me, Robert, the timing mattered, too. I had just retired after a 35-year career on Wall Street, and I wanted to understand where my health really stood. Knowing I had no cancer markers was a huge relief, and getting on a path to better health and wellness was really helpful.

I am down 15 pounds by working out regularly and eating better. My total cholesterol had been in the 230-240 range, and now it is down to 160. When I had an issue with my knee and could not work out for two months, my cholesterol went back up. That showed me how much these lifestyle changes were affecting my health.

Personalized support that made the difference

Personalized support that made the difference

What stood out most was that Biograph did not just hand us results and send us on our way. The team helped us understand what the results meant and how to make changes in a realistic way. When I, Deborah, told the exercise physiologist that I wished I could run, he showed me that I did not have to, especially because of the stress on my joints. He taught me that walking and using an incline can be just as powerful. He met me where I was and helped me get to where I needed to be.

The other Biograph exercise physiologists and registered dietitians were also kind and informative. They shared articles and resources they thought could help us along the way. I, Robert, have knee and shoulder injuries, and they were able to provide workouts that worked for me and supported me through the journey.

Finding the cause of sleepless nights

Finding the cause of sleepless nights

One of the biggest changes for me, Deborah, was sleep. I had been sleeping only two to three hours a night, but I did not think of it as a menopause symptom because I did not have what I thought were typical menopause symptoms.

When I spoke with my Biograph physician, he explained that sleep can be a major menopause-related issue and recommended I speak with my OB-GYN. After that, I started hormone therapy under my OB-GYN's care, and I went from two to three hours of sleep a night to seven to nine hours. It was a major lifestyle change and the one that helped the most.

A new standard for our preventive care

A new standard for our preventive care

Compared with traditional healthcare or executive physicals, what stood out to us was getting such an amazing baseline in one place. Normally, you would have to go to so many different doctors and spend a lot of time getting these tests done. At Biograph, we were able to do it in one place and then understand where to go from there.

It also felt like the physician really cared about our health. He was in tune with the findings, our next steps, and how we should keep an eye on our personal situations. Having a doctor who gives you that time and dedication is rare.

Building a healthier future for our family

Building a healthier future for our family

This experience has also changed how we think about prevention for our family. Our middle son came in for the full Biograph testing, and our kids are in their 20s. We think this kind of knowledge and baseline is important even when you are young. Someone who is 25 could learn they have high cholesterol or high blood pressure. It may not feel urgent yet, but it is useful knowledge for the future. If you find something, there are things you can do in the meantime.

If we had to summarize the experience in one sentence, we would say this: you should really consider Biograph because it can give you a wealth of information, answer questions about your overall health and wellness, and give you the support you need to make positive changes so you can live a happier and healthier life.

What Deborah and Robert’s story shows about preventive health

Deborah and Robert's experience reflects what a comprehensive health assessment is meant to do: identify what matters, explain why it matters, and help translate that information into realistic next steps.

Their story is not only about testing. It is about the connection between early detection, clinical interpretation, and follow-through. Genetic risk information, cholesterol changes, sleep concerns, fitness limitations, nutrition habits, and family history can all shape long-term health. When those pieces are evaluated together, preventive health screening becomes more actionable.

That is the difference between receiving more data and receiving a plan. A physician-led assessment can help prioritize which findings need attention, which habits are most likely to move the right markers, and what should be monitored over time.

Why a health baseline matters

Deborah described Biograph as an opportunity to get "baseline testing of everything" in one place. That was one of the biggest differences she noticed compared with traditional healthcare.

In a typical medical experience, a person may need to schedule separate visits across several specialists to piece together blood work, imaging, fitness, nutrition, sleep, and risk assessment. Biograph brings these areas together into a physician-led preventive health assessment designed to help members understand their current state and what to monitor over time.

A health baseline matters because it gives people a starting point. It can show what is already strong, what needs attention, and what should be tracked longitudinally. For some people, that may mean cardiovascular risk factors. For others, it may mean body composition, sleep, hormone health, bone density, fitness, metabolic markers, or family risk.

For Deborah and Robert, the baseline also changed how they thought about their children. Their experience became a family conversation about inherited risk, earlier screening, and the value of knowing where your health stands before symptoms appear.

If a younger adult learns they have high cholesterol, high blood pressure, inherited risk, or another early warning sign, they may have more time to make changes before it becomes a larger problem.

How Biograph turned a preventive health screening into action

The value of a comprehensive health assessment is not simply collecting more data. The value is knowing what the data means and what to do next.

At Biograph, the assessment is designed to connect advanced diagnostics with clinical interpretation and a personalized plan. Depending on the member and the clinical context, that may include imaging, advanced blood work, cardiovascular evaluation, body composition, fitness testing, genetic risk information when appropriate, nutrition assessment, sleep evaluation, and physician-guided follow-up.

That integrated approach helps answer practical questions:

What risks are present today?

Which findings need follow-up now, later, or not at all?

What lifestyle changes are most likely to move the right numbers?

What should be monitored over time?

Which specialists or additional testing may be appropriate?

For Deborah and Robert, that meant the assessment did not end when the testing ended. They left with education, referrals, exercise guidance, nutrition support, and a clearer path for ongoing prevention.

How is Biograph different from a traditional annual physical?

Many people search for an executive physical or executive health assessment because they want a more complete view of their health than they typically receive in a standard annual visit. But the depth, coordination, and follow-up can vary widely across programs.

Biograph's approach is built around comprehensive preventive health assessment, not a one-time checklist. The goal is to help members understand risk earlier, establish a baseline, and turn findings into a plan that supports long-term healthspan.

For Deborah and Robert, that difference came through in the time, attention, and follow-up they received. Their physician helped them understand what the findings meant, where to go next, and how to keep an eye on their personal situations over time.

That level of coordination can be difficult to find in traditional healthcare, where visits are often short and different parts of a person's health may be handled separately.

What does a Biograph assessment include?

A Biograph assessment may include a range of evaluations, depending on clinical appropriateness and the member's needs:

Abstract digital illustration of circulating biomarkers and molecular blood panels for cardiometabolic health assessment.

Advanced blood testing, including cardiometabolic markers

DEXA body composition and bone densitometry scan display measuring lean muscle mass, visceral fat, and bone density.

DEXA body composition and bone health evaluation

Selection of nutrient-dense whole foods supporting personalized metabolic nutrition, longevity, and cardiometabolic health.

Nutrition guidance

Person performing a mobility stretch, illustrating targeted exercise programming for joint resilience and musculoskeletal health.

Exercise recommendations

Person sleeping peacefully in bed, highlighting restorative sleep tracking and its role in metabolic and hormone optimization.

At-home sleep testing

Abstract digital representation of a DNA double helix, symbolizing genetic risk screening and hereditary disease prevention.

Genetic risk information when clinically appropriate

Comprehensive clinical health report and diagnostic summary used by physicians to develop personalized preventive care plans.

The purpose of this program is to create a clinically meaningful view of health that can guide prevention, behavior change, and long-term monitoring.

Commonly asked questions about comprehensive health assessments

What is a comprehensive health assessment?

A comprehensive health assessment is a physician-led evaluation that looks across multiple areas of health, including biomarkers, imaging, cardiovascular risk, body composition, fitness, nutrition, sleep, family history, and lifestyle. The goal is to establish a baseline, identify risk earlier, and create a personalized plan for prevention and long-term health.

Why is establishing a health baseline important?

A health baseline shows where your body is today so you and your clinician can track meaningful changes over time. It can help identify what is already working, what needs attention, and which findings should be monitored, treated, or rechecked in the future.

Can preventive health screening identify genetic health risks?

In some cases, preventive health screening may surface genetic or inherited risk information that should be reviewed with a qualified clinician or genetic counselor. Genetic findings do not always mean a person will develop a condition, but they can help guide earlier screening, family conversations, and personalized prevention.

What happens after a Biograph assessment?

After a Biograph assessment, members review their results with a physician and receive guidance on next steps. Depending on the findings, that may include lifestyle changes, additional testing, referrals, nutrition support, exercise programming, sleep support, or ongoing monitoring.

Can lifestyle changes affect cholesterol and metabolic health?

Yes. Nutrition, physical activity, weight management, sleep, and other lifestyle factors can influence cholesterol and metabolic health. Robert's experience is one example of how consistent exercise and nutrition changes were associated with meaningful improvements in his cholesterol, though individual results vary.

Can sleep problems be related to menopause?

Sleep problems can occur during the menopausal transition, even when someone does not experience the symptoms they expected. Anyone with persistent sleep disruption should speak with a qualified clinician or OB-GYN to evaluate possible causes and treatment options.

When should someone consider preventive health screening?

Preventive health screening may be useful when someone wants to understand their current risk, establish a health baseline, make more informed lifestyle changes, or take a more proactive approach to family history and long-term health. The right timing and tests should be guided by a clinician.
