Dr. Yihan Chen, MD, MPH

Clinic Physician - New York City

Dr Michael Doney Executive Medical Director Biograph longevity medicine physician preventive health specialist

Dr. Chen serves as a physician at our New York City clinic. Prior to joining Biograph, she served as physician and clinical product lead at Forward Health and clinical instructor of medicine at UCLA. She received her medical and MPH degrees from Tulane University School of Medicine, and completed her residency in internal medicine at UCLA.

After receiving her joint medical degree and Master of Public Health from Tulane University School of Medicine, Dr. Chen completed her internal medicine residency at UCLA and served an additional year as chief resident. She went on to become an Extensivist Physician and Clinical Instructor of Medicine at UCLA, managing medically and psychosocially complex, high-risk patients across inpatient and outpatient settings. Her work centered on multidisciplinary coordination and reducing hospital readmissions, with a strong commitment to strengthening systems without compromising highly individualized patient care. She continued to teach residents and medical students, reinforcing that excellence in medicine demands both clinical rigor and a deep understanding of the person behind the diagnosis.

Seeking to move further upstream, Dr. Chen joined Forward, a technology-enabled primary care company built around proactive rather than reactive care. As both a practicing physician and Clinical Product Lead, she built clinical algorithms for digital tools spanning cardiovascular to women’s health, and she partnered closely with product and engineering teams to translate complex clinical decision-making into scalable protocols.

At Biograph, Dr. Chen continues to deliver preventative care at the intersection of systems-level thinking and a deeply personalized approach. As a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner (MSCP), she has a particular interest and expertise in improving healthspan for women. Her clinical philosophy emphasizes helping members deeply understand the root causes, nuances and implications of their test results, then collaborating with them to create action plans that are both evidence-informed and values-driven.
